Fixing The 2015 Mustang GT's Biggest Weakness
So for those who dont know, blocks are cast in sand and often with styrofoam acting as a part of the mold as well. Once cast they cool down get the sand bits vibrated off and some simple cleaning, then on to machining where the parts like bearings and all the threaded holes are machined in, this leaves tons of chips and some sand from casting. They use to black cleaning solution through every passage something that took a few min per block to hook up and run through the giant dishwasher. Accountants saw this as a labor intensive step and decided just to toss them in the industrial dishwasher without directly cleaning the oil and coolant passages. This is what cause all those kia engines to blow up. And now toyota of all companies are doing that toxic cheap trait
Yeah, Hyundai blamed "machining debris" for all of its engine failures. Yet the failures didn't go away. Toyota built a turd and they don't want to admit it.
Goto fucking hell dealershit
Fuel prices and the bloody cost of the rig...truck.market is eating itself. The profit margins in the truck market is huge. I have been preaching for year's...high output 6 cylinder diesel hybrids....STILL WAITING!
I Hate turbos. Turbos pulling weight makes less sense.
Just give me an old NA V8
they pulled a kia/hyundai 2.4 engine move
It's Joe Biden economy.
Ford Maverick sales are up 81 percent 😊
Lol, so exactly what Hyundai did a few years ago?
Toyota looks at what americans want in their pickup trucks, so they put in an engine that grenades itself
Wonder how long they kept it quiet 😏
Jeez that’s rough. Machining debris absolutely shredding the inside of that block.
Toyota, I love you, but please bring us back the V8 and also a V6 in the Tacoma.
Used to love Toyota RAV4 2017, now I love my Mazda CX5 2018 even more.
V8 is greatest motor ever built in human history
Woooooooooo!
I used to be a loyal Toyota nut. I bought an ‘18 rav4 while back.. it’s only slightly better than a Kia or whatnot. Toyotas build quality has plummeted. Plus Subaru motor in the 86 and a German power plant in the supra. I’m done Toyota. We had good times and I’ll drive my old Lexus IS300 into the ground before filing for divorce.
Actually it's because it's a V instead of Inline
I will keep driving my non turbo v6 4 runner until the day it dies. Being Toyota that might be 400k miles. Only 380k to go. 😂
V6:❌ V8:✅
Yeah right, toyota has been around for around 90 years now and they don't know how to wash an engine block? Sounds like they're cheaping out like back then with their inferior piston rings. I swear blind toyota fanboys are so dumb, every single brand had a good reliable car at some point, yes, even Hyundai and BMW
My oldest son brought a 2024 Tundra in January. The engine blew with only 3000 miles on it. Toyota put a new engine in it and in 5000 miles it blew up again. He is on his 3rd engine and now the 3rd one is making ticking noises. He is going to trade it in for a Nissan Titan. I have a 2019 Titan and I have zero problems with it. It has a little o we 100,000 miles on it and it runs fine.
So their replacing engines or doing a cheap patch like they did with the stuck Prius throttles that killed a family?
I see the problem Their mechanic is wearing skinny jeans 😅
They’ve known about the debris in the engines for a while now
Hyundai did the same thing 😂😂😂
Toyota will learn from this and improve. If the same thing happened to ford they would keep selling it anyway.
Too much blablabla. Unreasonably expensive. Thats the reason.
I mean I feel like they should nah w figured this out before release but mmkay
Well it's a good thing I don't like the third gen tundra anyway it's got some silly battery in it
Electric cars will never stick because there's not enough infrastructure for it. Go cry and hug a tree. 😊
They have to make the engines more efficient due to government regulations. Unfortunately, changes in design brings new problems. At least, they discovers it early. Some other car companies would just act like nothing happening and kick the can years down the road just to save some dollars.
man f toyota!!!
There’s also the fact that our economies in shambles and they want $100,000 for a truck nowadays just saying
The new gen Tundra is just one big ball of problems and issues. Stay away from that pos at all costs.
The Lexus of are fine because they're made in Japan the thunders are made in Mexico Toyota and America need to wake up
Machining debris? Nahhh. It's an inherent design problem.
"It's not for the reason that you think"... I have put zero thought into this and have no thoughts on the matter.
New stuff comes with new problems Although if they used the 4.0 1GR and turbocharged it, all would be damn fine
No one has 60,000 to spend on a freaking truck, the other day I seen a 3/4 ton GMC and they wanted $90,000 for it. I hope the dealers and the manufacturer loses their ass on these overpriced trucks.
...y'all know the V35A-FTS has been in production for awhile right? It's been in the Lexus LS for years now since 2018, and at no point have we been yelling about problems with that car. It's perfectly logical to think that it's a manufacturing error for the utility vehicle versions, since they're built separately
Looks like Toyota took a cue from Hyundai and Kia's playback- leave a bunch of metal chips in the oil passages/block crevasses and see how much warranty $ they have to pay out....
408 cubic inch i6 Cummins.
This is the 1st short I've seen that is just delivering information. So refreshing. No AI, no nonsense.
I want to know how they plan on fixing that problem with a recall. Are they planning on paying for 100,000 New Motors
Slow and will handle just as bad as any other mustang
I don't get it. It's as if Toyota forgot how to build reliable vehicles. What happened, did quality control get fired?
Tanking truck sales were the first sign of the 07-08 bust. Ford was hit particularly hard. The repairs they made to their business to keep from going BK were the reason they didn’t get gobbled up by Obama when they took over the car companies. Ford had already been through it.
Another win for big government!
